I was part of the Ket Babai Ngarud Group Exhibition held at Vigan City Hall on 9-30 March 2026 in celebration of Women’s Month. I also prepared the poster, invitation, brochure design, and video presentation for the exhibit.

The artist’s portrait of her mother emerges through a field derived from the kusikus pattern of the Ilocano binakol weave, a textile known for its optical movement and protective symbolism. The shifting grid interrupts the figure, destabilizing the act of looking. In this fractured illumination, the question becomes not only who the subject is, but how identity appears, disappears, and shapeshifts depending on the light and lens through which we see it.
